Challenge

As their business expanded, Holland Mechanics faced three critical challenges:

• File sharing and permissions management: Holland Mechanics required an efficient file-sharing platform to support team collaboration and cross-departmental access while ensuring secure access and sharing of necessary data through permissions management.
• Virtualization deployment: Holland Mechanics aimed to integrate ERP systems through virtualization technology to improve resource utilization, streamline management processes, and enhance system stability and scalability.
• Data backup: A reliable backup solution was needed to safeguard critical business data, prevent data loss due to unexpected events, and support disaster recovery to ensure business continuity.

Solution

Holland Mechanics adopted QNAP’s storage and virtualization solutions, which addressed these challenges comprehensively. The TS-h2490FU all-flash NAS, equipped with twelve 3.84TB SSDs and RAID 50 configuration, provided 35TB of high-speed storage—ideal for core business demands.

For data migration and management, QNAP's Hybrid Backup Sync (HBS) enabled seamless data migration from legacy storage devices, creating a highly efficient storage environment. Additionally, the virtualization capabilities of QNAP NAS allowed Holland Mechanics to centralize ERP systems and other critical applications on a single device, reducing hardware costs while significantly improving system flexibility and scalability. The QuTS hero operating system further enhanced data security with granular permission settings and multi-layered protections, including multi-factor authentication and encryption, ensuring the confidentiality and integrity of sensitive data.

To enhance resilience, Holland Mechanics deployed a TS-873AeU-RP as a secondary storage device, offering 60TB of backup space. HBS ensured regular synchronization of critical data between devices, while periodic virtualization backups safeguarded business continuity.
